Designing a Garden Layout

Flat lands are great for setting up a large garden operation: straight rows, level ground, consistent soil, and even watering all make gardening and farming on flat land more effective and efficient. But what if you don't have a perfectly level piece of ground with nice loam for soil. What if you are on a "marginal piece of ground," one that is sloping? How you choose to set that garden up and how you layout your beds will make all the difference. The difference between success and failure on sloping ground is found in a simple yet dramatic approach known as key line design.
